Katie Holmes made her first public out since announcing her divorce from Tom Cruise on Monday (July 2) in New York City.

The actress who was seen looking quite tired and without her wedding ring taped an appearance for ‘Project Runway‘ at Parsons The New School of Design.

Holmes filed for divorce just days ago from the ‘Mission: Impossible‘ actor after five years of marriage together.

Close sources are saying that the reason Holmes pulled the plug on their marriage was because she feared their daughter, Suri, would be inducted into a hardcore Scientology organization known as Sea Org.
