Is Janet Jackson ‘X Factor‘ bound?

It looks like the “Rhythm Nation” singer is Simon Cowell‘s top choice to come on and judge the U.S. version of the singing competition after Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were axed from the show after only one season.

Jackson stopped by Anderson Cooper’s daytime talk show (the episode will air later) and when Anderson asked Janet if she is a judge on the ‘X Factor’ she replied, ”No, I am not. But that’s all I really think I should say.”

I really hope the news is true because I would love to see Janet mentor! What do you guys think?

Confirmed! Paula Abdul Not Returning to ‘X Factor’

It looks like Simon Cowell is cleaning out the house. Just a day after it was confirmed that Steve Jones will not be returning as host for the second season of ‘The X Factor,’ Paula Abdul has confirmed today (January 31) that she herself will not be returning as well.

In an official statement, Abdul said, “Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to The X Factor next season. I’ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations.”

“Simon and I, along with Fox and Fremantle, have been communicating about this for a while now, and I have absolute understanding of the situation. Simon is, and will remain a dear friend of mine and I’ve treasured my experience working this past season with my extended family at Fox and Fremantle.”

“I want nothing more than for The X Factor to exceed ALL of their wildest dreams. This truly has been a blessing and I am most grateful.”

Rumors are also swirling that Nicole Scherzinger will not be returning for a second season.

Fox Renews ‘The X Factor’ For 2nd Season

It looks like Simon Cowell will be smiling ear-to-ear as Fox has announced today (Novemeber 2) that they will be renewing ‘The X Factor‘ for a second season.

The U.S. version of the hit UK show started in September and averages about 13.5 million viewers. Though Cowell expected higher ratings he did say in an interview last week that once live vopting starts they will see a bigger difference in ratings.

Cowell said, “When we go live, I do think we’re going to see a real difference.”

A new episode of ‘The X Factor’ airs tonight at 8/7C.
