Sydney Prescott might be coming to the small screen, as MTV has greenlit a pilot for Kevin Willamson and Wes Craven‘s ‘Scream‘ franchise.
The first ‘Scream’ film which was released in 1996 starred Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Rose McGowan and Drew Barrymore.
The word on a storyline however Craven may direct the pilot and it’s planned for a summer 2014 debut.
Rightfully so, MTV has pulled the plug on the second season of ‘Buckwild‘ after the tragic death of Shain Gandee.
A rep for MTV has stated that, “Given Shain’s tragic passing and essential presence on the show, we felt it was not appropriate to continue without him.”
The rep adds, “Instead, we are working on a meaningful way to pay tribute to his memory on our air and privately.”
Shain died on April 1st of carbon monoxide poisoning after his Bronco got stuck in mud.
MTV will pay tribute to Gandee in a special on Sunday (April 14) at 8/7c on MTV.

‘Buckwild‘ star Shain Gandee who starred in the hit MTV reality show was found dead on Monday (April 1) in West Virginia.
According to TMZ, two other bodies were also found in the vehicle in Sissonville, West Virginia.
Shain was reported missing just 31 hours earlier and was last heard from around 3 AM on Sunday morning, when he and his uncle David Gandee told people they planned to go 4-wheeling.
