Vittorio Missoni, the commercial and marketing director of the Missoni fashion house, has gone missing after his plane disappeared on Friday (December 4) in Venezuela.
Missoni was vacationing with his wife, Maurizia Castiglioni, when their small plane went off the radar 10 nautical miles after taking off from Los Roques and heading towards Caracas. Two of the couple’s longtime friends and two crew members were also on board.
The Missoni fashion house has released a formal statement, “The small plane they were travelling on has disappeared,” the statement confirms. “This is all the information currently available. We are relying on the work of the Farnesina [Italy's foreign ministry] and all the institutions involved, to whom we are grateful for the prompt activities in the research. As more information becomes available the company will issue further statements.”
