She’s already getting Oscar buzz for her impeccable performance as one of the most iconic actresses in her new film ‘My Week With Marilyn‘ and to keep Marilyn Monroe‘s spirit alive during filming Michelle Williams stayed in character even when the camera’s weren’t rolling.
“I tried to keep her voice, I tried to keep her walk, and I tried to keep as much close by as I could at all times,” Williams said.
It’s not unusual for actors to stay in character off set while filming a film, the late Heath Ledger who Williams shares a six-year-old daughter with stayed in character as the Joker when he filmed Christopher Nolan‘s ‘The Dark Knight‘ back in 2008. Meryl Streep is also well known for staying in character while the cameras are not rolling.
‘My Week With Marilyn’ is currently playing in theaters.
