Khloe Kardashian‘s stint as ‘X Factor‘ co-host has been short lived as she will not be returning as co-host. However, Mario Lopez is set to return, Fox announced on Monday (April 22).

“Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to co-host ‘The X Factor,’ the network said in a statement. “We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”

“I’m looking forward to returning to ‘The X Factor’ team,” Lopez said in a statement. “We’re coming back stronger and better than ever and I’m excited to check out all the new talent.”

Lopez will be joining Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell for the third season.

Spunky Demi Lovato will be back as a judge for the third season of the ‘X Factor.’

“I am so excited to return as a judge and mentor on ‘The X Factor,’” Lovato says in a statement. “Last season was an unbelievable experience and I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with the contestants and the panel. I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better!”

Simon Cowell, the force behind the show, gushed about Demi returning as a judge saying, “I couldn’t be happier that Demi wants to come back this year,” Cowell says. ”She’s a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year. Even though she can be really, really annoying–I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I’m especially pleased she’s back, even during her world tour!”

No word yet on who will be replacing Britney Spears and L.A. Reid.

Britney Spears and Demi Lovato along with co-host Khloe Kardashian stepped out for the ‘X Factor‘ season finale news conference on Monday (December 17) at CBS Televison City in Los Angeles, CA.

The 31-year-old pop star looked elegant in a black dress while the singer/actress wore a printed skirt and black loose shirt. Khloe wore an all black ensemble with a dash of leopard.

Earlier today, Britney posted a photo while hard at work with the caption,“Spending the day with the one & only @CarlyRoseMusic. I’m telling y’all… this girl is COMING for the win this week.”
