The 21-year-old singer who has been a judge on the show for the past two seasons will not be returning, Simon Cowell confirms.
“I always knew she wasn’t coming back because she’s touring, so I knew that,” Cowell said on Wednesday (December 18).
Lovato is kicking off her Neon Lights tour in Vancouver on Feb. 9, 2014.
Demi also verified her departure from the talent show, “I started the show being a singer and a musician, and so I’m going to go back to that,” she said. “It’s been really great, but I’m so excited for 2014. I’m going to dedicate it completely and entirely to music—touring and making a new album. Possibly releasing one.”
Make sure you tune in on Thursday, Dec. 19th for the ‘X Factor’ finale!
Demi Lovato is opening up about her drug and alcohol addiction in a new revealing interview with Access Hollywood.
The 21-year-old singer/actress sat down with Kit Hoover to discuss her troubled past, “Something I’ve never talked about before, but with my drug use I could hide it to where I would sneak drugs,” Demi started to explain.
“I couldn’t go without 30 minutes to an hour without cocaine and I would bring it on airplanes. I would smuggle it basically and just wait until everyone in first class would go to sleep and I would do it right there. I’d sneak to the bathroom and I’d do it. That’s how difficult it got and that was even with somebody [with me], I had a sober companion, somebody who was watching me 24/7 and living with me [and] I was able to hide it from them as well.”
“I was going to the airport and I had a Sprite bottle just filled with vodka and it was just nine in the morning and I was throwing up in the car and this was just to get on a plane to go back to LA to the sober living house that I was staying at…I had all the help in the world, but I didn’t want it,”Demi said about hitting rock bottom.
“When I hit that moment I was like, it’s no longer fun when you’re doing it alone. I’ve really never talked about this stuff before… I don’t know if I should be sharing this,” she said.
“I’m very, very good at manipulating people and that was something that I did in my disease,” Demi explained. “I would manipulate everyone around me. There were times I would just continue to lie, so that everything looked OK on the outside.”
I’m so proud of Demi, I think it’s amazing when celebrities like herself can share stories like this in hopes of maybe helping someone who might be going through what she went through.
