Singer/fashion designer Gwen Stefani is Elle magazine’s cover girl for their May 2011 “Women in Music” issue. Looking amazing by the way, the mother of two was photographed by Dusan Reljin. In the magazine she opens up about her marriage to Gavin Rossdale, writing hits and whether certain pop stars today have emulated her style.
On writing hits: “I do! Why wouldn’t you want that many people listening to the songs that you wrote? There’s no way to go back after you have had it. So the intentions of even the solo records were always about trying to write those guilty-pleasure albums that just get in your head and you can’t get out. I’m not cool, I’m not into the B-sides. Prince, who is one of my idols, gave me some advice when I worked with him: “Have you ever just tried writing a hit? Like, don’t just try writing a song, try and write a hit song.” I remember him saying that and me thinking, Yeah, you’re right. Why would you write anything else?”
On her marriage: “The first time we ever kissed was right around Valentine’s Day
Britney Spears premiered her new music video for her second single “Till the World Ends” from her seventh studio album Femme Fatale.
The video which is directed by Ray Kay features Britney in a studded leather jacket sweating and dancing, a little take-back to her “I’m a Slave 4 U” days. The song was co-written by Ke$ha and produced by Max Martin, Dr. Luke and Billboard.

Kimberley Newport-Mimran unleashed her Pink TartanF/W 2011 collection during LGFashion Week in Toronto, Canada on Tuesday (March 29). I got the pleasure of meeting the talented designer back in 2010 when I interviewed her backstage during last year’s F/W collection.
This year she took a different approach with military inspired womenswear. Olive green was a huge trend throughout the show as well as deep bright mauve, slim fitting blouses, camel, metallic, lots of gleaming buttons and brassy epaulettes.
Newport also showed a great range of outerwear from mid-length slim puffer coats, military style blazers, ivory full-length pea coats and even a great thick wool ivory cowl scarf.
Here’s a look (pictured below) at some of the pieces from the show taken by my iPhone and digital camera. For more photos and videos from thePink Tartan F/W 2011runway show click here.
