The numbers are finally in!
Amidst tragedy this past weekend in Colorado, ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ topped the box office earning $160.9 million making it the biggest 2-D opening ever.
Warner Bros. held out releasing their revenue reports till Monday (July 23) out of respect for the victims and their families after the mass shooting that left 12 dead and 58 wounded at a midnight screening of the movie in Aurora, Colorado.
Though the film had a strong opening, it fell short with box office expectations ranging from $170 million to $200 million.
