Taking her personal struggles very seriously, Demi Lovato has fired back at the Disney Channel for a joke on their hit show ‘Shake It Up.’
During one of the episodes one of the characters said, ”I could just eat you up, well if I ate.” The former ‘Sonny With a Chance‘ star who entered rehab for an eating disorder last year quickly took to her Twitter on Friday (December 23) to express her anger, ”I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actress’ from the pressures of an EATING DISORDER and yet still make joke about that very disease. #nice”
Sending the Disney Channel one final message Demi tweeted, ”Dear Disney Channel, EATING DISORDERS ARE NOT SOMETHING TO JOKE ABOUT.”
Demi’s clear message was heard by her former employer and hours laters received a message from they saying, “we hear you & are pulling both episodes as quickly as possible & reevaluating them”
“It’s NEVER our intention to make light of eating disorders!” they told Demi.
