Could prison time be looming for Chris Brown?
Chris Brown has been charged with hit-and-run following an accident that occurred last month where he rear-ended a Mercedes and gave the driver false insurance information and then left the scene , TMZ reports.
The L.A. City Attorney has filed 2 criminal charges against the 24-year-old singer. Brown is charged with leaving the scene of the accident without exchanging proper information and he’s been charged with driving without a valid license.
After news broke the he’s has been charged with a hit-and-run, Brown took to his Twitter to defend himself, “It’s not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous.”
“I have a valid drivers license and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene,” Brown continued to tweet.
“She contacted the cops thinking of a payday from Chris Brown when I followed the proper procedures.”
If convicted, Brown would face up to one year in jail. No word yet if these charges will affect his current probation for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009.
